Founders Lodge is a private game lodge that borders the world-famous Shamwari Private Game Reserve.
Formerly the private residence of Shamwari founder Adrian Gardner, the exclusive lodge has been renovated and expanded to accommodate guests from all over the globe, many of them celebrities and dignitaries. The lodge boasts a number of 5-Star facilities and promises Big 5 game drives on the adjacent Shamwari Game Reserve. Founders Lodge promises luxury accommodation in six extensive suites. Two traditional suites echo the colonial flavour of the original homestead while four contemporary suites offer a more modern take on a safari lodge. Additionally, the contemporary suites also look out onto the courtyard, providing easy access to the swimming pools, dining area and other facilities.
All suites at Founders Lodge boast an en-suite bathroom complete with amenities like hygiene products and bath gowns and slippers. Guests at Founders Lodge enjoy access to a number of facilities including two outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped fitness centre and a TV and billiards lounge. The kitchen at Founders Lodge offer authentic bush cuisine for daily meals but lighter fare such as bush picnics can be arranged.
There are 2 colonial styled suites is set in the original manor house. The Master Suites features a four-poster bed. Both suites comprise of a seating area, writing desk, full en-suite bathroom, and a private verandah overlooking the rolling hills and valleys of the Founders Reserve.
Founders Lodge has 4 Contemporary Suites which are more modern than the Heritage Suite, with a minimalist aesthetic. The Contemporary Suites are accessible through the indigenous garden courtyard, and each features a private veranda overlooking cliffs, valleys and sprawling bushveld of the Founders Reserve.
Each spacious suite has a seating area, work desk, a spacious full en-suite bathroom, and a private veranda furnished with armchairs and a small dining table for two.
